The Happiness can be shared in many ways. Sometimes small things make us happy. Sometimes worldly things make us happy. But imagine who are immobile get a chance to travel to a place that they hold so dear and sacred to their hearts. The contentment they would feel. The joy in their hearts.
The smiles on the faces of the inmates at Victoria Home for the incurables who are irreversibly physically handicapped, Rajagiriya revealed how so much of joy return to their hearts after a long span of time when Leos of Polgasowita took them a visit to the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple on 8th of May, 2016.
Providing the transportation for the inmates was the biggest challenges leos faced as most of them were handicapped to a wheelchair. Even amidst the rain the leos carried out the good will project with the determination of providing an escapade from their daily routine inside the Victoria Home. At Gangaramaya Temple the adults of Victoria Home were taken a tour around the temple premises and most of them were struck with awe blended in pure joy as that was the first time in a long time they’ve visited a temple. The monks from the Gangaramaya temple including the chief incumbent, ven. Galaboda Gnanissara Thera blessed and spoke with the inmates of Victoria Home.
After attending to religious rituals and watching the treasures of Gangaramaya, they were returned back to their home with the hearts contended and filled with joy and gratitude which they showed simply by greeting us “bohoma pin puthe”, (Thank You Very much son).
